The Science of Chi (Qi)

Dr. Moustafa Rezk ,Physician & Acupuncturist

Science Making: To construct science, Descartes, Newton, and Galileo prescribed three elements: a theory, verifiable predictions, and benefits for humanity. Our theory is qi, the vital energy, acknowledged in alternative medicine but dismissed by mainstream science. Recent metaphysical experiments hint at realities beyond space and time, acknowledging a domain of potentiality in addition to the material realm.

Materialistic View: Vital energy was discarded from science with the synthesis of urea in the 19th century. Biological energy became localized, generated by mitochondria, and matter was considered the sole reality. Life's evolution, from particles to organs, was deemed a chance occurrence, with consciousness as a byproduct of brain activity.

Morphogenesis: Morphogenesis poses a challenge in biology, indicating a vital energy role. The morphogenic field theory, abandoned for a DNA-centric one, is revisited by Sheldrake, introducing morphic resonance. Sheldrake's theory suggests downward causation, purpose in form-making, non-locality, and memory, aligning with the concept of vital energy.

Back to Vitalism: Sheldrake's morphic resonance aligns with vital energy (chi), although it raises questions about non-physical forces influencing matter. The dualistic nature of Sheldrake's theory challenges the conservation of energy law.

Consciousness is Back: The Double Slit experiment in quantum physics emphasizes the role of the observer. Quantum entanglement experiments reveal a domain of reality where everything is one, suggesting a realm of potentiality beyond space and time. Consciousness bridges these two realities, challenging materialistic views.

Two Domains of Reality: Quantum physics establishes two realities, one in space and time and another in potentiality. Consciousness is the bridge between them. The complementarity of wave and particle aspects in quantum physics aligns with the Yin and Yang aspects of chi, emphasizing the message of two coexisting realities.

The Primacy of Consciousness: Inspired by Eastern philosophies, Amit Goswami posits consciousness as primary. Quantum objects are possibilities actualized by consciousness. The undivided consciousness in the non-ordinary domain chooses from itself, eliminating the need for external means of communication.

Bodies of Consciousness: Consciousness is the medium through which quantum bodies interact. Jung's four conscious experiences (sensing, feeling, thinking, intuition) correspond to quantum bodies. Goswami's theory suggests consciousness mediates interactions between these quantum experiences.

The Benefits: Recognizing our participatory role in the universe's evolution and integrating alternative medicine with conventional practices are primary benefits. Acknowledging the scientific basis of alternative medicine enhances its efficacy, safety, and affordability.

Copying the Vital Energy: Vital energy, though subtle, can be imprinted on water, digitized, and copied. Applications include at-distance screening, non-invasive diagnostics, and potential non-chemical antidotes for certain diseases.
